The taxonomic backbone of the EVA database is derived from the cloud based SynBioSys taxon database. This backbone can be downloaded as a CSV file and contains the following columns:

 

•sbsTaxonlistID

•taxonList

•taxonGroup

•taxonFamily

•sbsTaxonID

•tv2TaxonID

•tv2TaxonName

•sbsTaxonName

•sbsTaxonFullName

•count

 

The last column 'count' holds the number of records of a taxon present in the database. Note that a certain taxon may be present in more than one taxon list. Thus the total number of occurrences is the summation of more than one count.

 

In case a taxon is not represented by a 'sbsTaxonName' this means that the taxon may be present in the taxon database, but has not yet been evaluated (mapped or rated as a new taxon).
