Species distribution data from GBIF in Simple CSV format can be imported in a Turboveg3 dataset. Taxon names derived from the column 'species' or from the column 'scientificName' do not matches with a name in the taxon list related to the dataset can optionally stored as original species concept. In a later stage these concepts can be assigned to taxon names included in the database taxonomy.
Note that records with the same coordinates are grouped into plots, otherwise each plot contains only a single species occurrence.
This function can import multiple CSV files that are stored in a given folder in a single process, but they all need to be in GBIF Simple CVS format.
