The protection status of a database refers to whether a database needs to be shared with multiple users or is only meant for one user (private). Only the user, who is identified as Administrator, can change the status from shared to private and vice versa. Check section Installation in a LAN in Installation and registration if the role of Administrator is not yet assigned to anyone.
