With this option all plots within a dataset can be checked for consistency regarding what is noted on the cover of the various layers (Total cover, cover trees, etc.) in the header data and the summed mean percentage cover values of the species in the distinguished vegetation layers. With this way it is for example possible to check if all the recorded mosses have been assigned to stratum 'Moss layer'.
The result of the analyses is stored in a spreadsheet file (Excel or csv).
Large differences between the value stored in the header data and summed cover value do not necessarily mean that that has been data entry mistakes. Species cover is often given in classes (e.g. Braun-Banquet code 2: 25-50%) which can make the comparison difficult.
